Light your Goals on Fire ~ Tips to Succeed

Do you like your results so far? Wish you had better ones? You can – the time is now to refocus and reframe your 2008 goals so by the end of the year, you can look back and say "I was hot this year."

You do have the power within yourself to succeed. If you decide to achieve your goals you can, and do so with fire burning brightly. Then when someone asks you, "what did/have you accomplished in 2008?" You can resond,"Let me tell you – I was unstoppable!"

We aren't getting any younger. If nothing changes, next year you will be another year older and still stuck in the same rut wondering when you will achieve your dreams. You can change! Here are some thoughts to apply so that you can take control of your life and light your fire!

Decide what you want this year. You must crystallize the goal in order to pursue and then achieve it. You must increase your positive self-talk. If I tell myself, "I am fat and never will get this weight off," what happens? You know the answer. Erase the negative thoughts, the negative tapes inside your head and replace with positive self-statements.

If you catch yourself thinking negatively, stop and replace it with the exact opposite. Write the positive thoughts down, post them with a sticky note, write them in your journal, or with a dry erase marker on your bathroom mirror. Expand these thoughts throughout every inch of your mind and body. Visualize where you want to be and you can get there.

Take action! Once your goal is identified, you must act on it to achieve it. So, you want to lose 20 lbs. Your actions could be to schedule a regular time for exercise, evaluating your eating habits and then replacing with health alternatives, or hanging a visual reinforcement (photograph, tiny bikini) for constant reminder. Don't forget to incorporate the positive action thoughts into your daily routine as well. Believe it and it will be!

Also, choose to surround yourself with a positive supportive person who is aware of your goal and helps you to accomplish it. Whatever you do – act! Just make the action something that will propel you toward your goal.

Here are a couple of exercises …..

1. Decide what you want to accomplish in life. Write down 50, 100 or 200 things you want to do, places you want to visit, etc.

2. Live with integrity. That will keep you from crashing and burning along the road. That's never fun.

3. Give more than you receive. Be a person that others see as a generous, "go-to" guy in time of need.

5. Manifest your goals with positive affirmations, visualizations, and journaling daily.
